JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Shane R. Eshbaugh, 18, of Jamestown was charged with unnecessary noise and resisting arrest Monday. Police say they attempted to question him about a previous incident at around 4:30 p.m. Monday when he allegedly began yelling. Officers say they told him to keep his voice down, but he refused. He also allegedly pulled away from officers as they attempted to place him into custody. He was taken to the city jail and held awaiting arraignment.
Michael D. Johnson, 25, and Marilyn Colburn, 44, both of Jamestown were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument at 7 p.m. Monday. An off-duty officer reported that he saw the two injecting themselves near the woods at Bergman Park. When police arrived, they allegedly saw them sitting next to an open fire with morphine pills and hypodermic needles in plain sight. They were taken into custody and will be in City Court later.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Paul R. Briggs, of Ashville was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving an unregistered and uninsured all-terrain vehicle, driving without a helmet and failure to display registration number Sunday. Police say around 5:15 p.m., Briggs was pulled over while riding an ATV on Wellman Road without a helmet.
Alex Haight, 16, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny Tuesday after he allegedly stashed $35 worth of clothes stolen from The Finish Line in a bush outside the Chautauqua Mall. He was taken into custody in the parking lot, processed at the police station and released. He will be in Busti Town Court on Oct. 14.
SOUTHERN TIER REGIONAL DRUG TASK FORCE
Rafael Mendez, 42, of Fredonia was charged with multiple counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell on Tuesday. Task force agents say that during a six-month investigation, Mendez sold cocaine to undercover agents several times. He was indicted by a Chautauqua County Grand Jury and detainers were filed as Mendez is currently an inmate at the Chautauqua County Jail. He will be in court later.
WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT
A 14-year-old boy from Ripley was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana Friday. Police say they went to the Westfield Academy and Central School after staff members said a student was bringing marijuana into the school. Police searched the student's locker and allegedly found a small amount of marijuana. He will be in Chautauqua County Family Court later.
Leroy W. Stepp, 61, of Westfield was charged with DWI, disorderly conduct and driving without headlights Sunday. Police say around 12:50 a.m., Stepp was seen driving a Dodge truck on Riley Street, squealing the tires while driving without the headlights turned on. Officers pulled him over and say he was intoxicated. He was processed and released to appear in Westfield Town Court later.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
Donald N. Michener, 47, of Little Valley was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest Sunday following a domestic dispute at his home. Deputies say he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the eye while physically fighting with her. He was taken into custody, arraigned in court and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $250 bail.
SALAMANCA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Donald Ott, 40, of Salamanca was charged with third-degree assault Sunday following a domestic dispute. He was taken into custody and held awaiting arraignment.
Judson D. Beattie, 21, of Salamanca was charged with disorderly conduct Saturday. He was taken into custody and held awaiting arraignment.
Justin M. Farnham, 21, of Salamanca was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, driving without taillights, and driving without a license July 25. He was processed and released with an appearance ticket. He will be in court today to answer to the charges.
