Ramon N. Perez, 65, of 502 Monroe St., died at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008 in WCA Hospital.
An area resident since 2005, he was born Aug. 31, 1943 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Manuel and Carmen Navarro Perez. Before coming to Jamestown, he had lived in New York City and Puerto Rico.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed locally as a security guard for the Jamestown YMCA.
Ramon's interests included playing guitar and singing.
Surviving are his wife, Rosario Paz Perez of New York City; three daughters: Cindy E. Perez-Gonzalez and Melissa A. Perez, both of New York and Sandra Perez-Diaz of Tampa, Fla..; two grandchildren: Raven A. and Evangeline L. Diaz of Tampa; one brother, Antonio Perez; and seven sisters: Luz Palmira Perez, Ramonita Perez, Mary Luz Perez, Carmen Iris Perez, Elvira Perez, Marta Iris Perez and Gloria Perez.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a time for remembrances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
