Summer is here. But before you pack up your picnic basket or fire up the barbecue, there are a few precautions you can take to prevent food poisoning from ruining your outdoor eating activities.

First, wash your hands often. Use warm soapy water for at least 15 seconds before preparing foods and after handling raw meats.

Next, always keep raw meats and ready-to-eat foods separate.

Use a meat thermometer to thoroughly cook all meats

Finally, Keep hot food hot and cold food cold.
