Mrs. Raymond was born March 4, 1919, in North Clymer, N.Y., daughter of the late Howard and Kitty Belle Sheldon Cook.
She was raised and educated in Panama, N.Y., where she graduated from Panama High School in 1937. Mrs. Raymond then graduated from Orra Jean Beauty School in Erie. Following her marriage, she moved to Plank Road and operated a beauty shop from her home for several years. In addition, she helped her husband operate their farm, especially during maple syrup season.
Mrs. Raymond had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Corry since April 1957 and was a deaconess of the church. She was also a Sunday school teacher there.
She enjoyed entertaining missionaries and friends in her home. Mrs. Raymond also enjoyed traveling and helping her husband in the maple syrup production.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Murray B. Raymond on Nov. 11, 1995. They were married June 4, 1947 in Panama, NY.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Cook.
Mrs. Raymond is survived by a sister, Doris Roush of Jamestown, N.Y.; and by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center Street, Corry, Pa., on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service there at 11 a.m. The Rev. George Heiser, former pastor of the First Baptist Church in Corry, will officiate.
Burial will be made in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry.
