TANNERSVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — State police say a 50-year-old man riding a skateboard has been killed after he collided with a trooper's marked patrol vehicle on an upstate New York road.

Police say Bernard Hamilton of Tannersville was riding his skateboard down a road just after 11:30 p.m. Thursday when he entered the intersection of state Route 23A in his Greene County hometown, located in the northern Catskill Mountains 35 miles southwest of Albany.

Officials say Hamilton hit a trooper's car that was traveling through the intersection. Hamilton died at the scene.

Troopers say their investigation is continuing.
