NY bank exec arraigned on Hamptons rape charge

September 20, 2013

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (AP) — A New York City investment banker is free on bail after being arraigned on charges that he raped a woman he met at a nightclub in a summer resort town on Long Island.

Jason Lee was initially arrested a month ago after the woman accused him of attacking her in a bathroom at a home he was renting in East Hampton with his wife.

He left a courthouse in Riverhead without saying a word Friday after his arraignment.

Lee's lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., says he's innocent and that the sex was consensual.

The district attorney says the victim was treated at a hospital after the assault.

Lee is on a leave of absence as a managing director in Goldman Sachs' equity capital markets department. He lives in Manhattan.
