NEW YORK (AP) — Police are investigating the death of a 29-year-old man who apparently hung himself at a Brooklyn police station.
Police said the man was found hanging by his shirt inside a cell at the 61st Precinct stationhouse in the Gravesend neighborhood on Aug. 30.
He was taken to Coney Island Hospital, where he died on Thursday.
The Daily News reports (http://nydn.us/18J2GTO) that the man had been arrested for possession of the date-rape drug ketamine.
The Police Department's internal affairs bureau is investigating.
Police have not released the man's name.
