Charles Cooper
He was born Feb. 25, 1986 in Jamestown, the son of Charles S. Cooper Sr. and Sherry L. Weaver, both of Jamestown.
A Chautauqua County resident all of his life, he was a 2004 graduate of Jamestown High School. Four days after his graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was proudly serving with the Second Battalion of the 14th Infantry, part of the Third Brigade of the Fort Drum Mountain Division. He received several awards during his service time, including the Army Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star in recognition of his sacrifice to his country.
He loved hunting and fishing and was most comfortable outdoors. He also enjoyed playing video games and had recently begun skateboarding. He loved helping others and spending time with his family. He gave his best to provide the freedom he cherished. Heroes are always missed.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Steven Cooper of Panama, David and Laverne Patrick Cooper, both of Jamestown; two sisters, Jennifer Cooper of Las Vegas, Nev. And Danielle "Sissy" Steinbiser of Union City, Pa.; his paternal grandmother, Patricia Wilson Cooper of Ellington; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Laverne Cooper; and his maternal grandparents, Connie and Neil Clement Weaver.
Burial will be in Lake view Cemetery in Jamestown.

Arrangements are by the Jordan Funeral Home in Sinclairville.
