Apparently you haven't read the paper recently. Both Tim Cook of Sherman and Lon Knappenberger of Westfield were recently honored by the state. Both science teachers. I read it here.

Griffin60: What a jerk. Because there is no Grammy for science and math? I wonder what your scientific credentials are, since you're so concerned. Nonetheless, you can hide your real persona and issue stupid verdicts like that without worrying about being publicly accountable for your opinions. FYI, there are plenty of teaching awards per each subject in America; none, sadly, has the public reach that a Grammy award does and in these days when music is being cut in schools in our county, it's about time that we learn from Mr. K. (see the online interviews, etc.) that they learn a lot more about themselves through learning music under his tutelage. And that's true of all successful teachers. You're probably a Teapublican teacher hater in your spare time. Do you listen to music? Someone trained those people you listen to. If you don't, you're inhuman.
