Christ Is Essential To Christmas Season

December 26, 2013

To The Reader’s Forum: A title to an article read “Have a Very Atheist Christmas.” That sounds like trying to make pork Jewish....

A letter written that is now approaching 400 comments. Wow! If there's two things that will generate a lot of opinions it is one's faith and government.

Yet, Gravel, you are qualified to judge me as unloving while you say that you are not qualified to judge Foxx, who plainly said that Obama was savior and lord. What gives? A lot of uninformed and ignorant voters placed Obama in office. You are more bothered by that than Jamie Foxx calling Barack Obama lord and savior. BTW, the illustration I gave about someone calling Bozo lord and savior is relevant to Foxx calling Obama lord and savior.

Gravel, it is very difficult to reason with you. You say I wrote it to criticize Obama. How do you know? It is just your subjective opinion. How do you even know my motivations? You don't even have objective evidence from this article that this attacks Obama. Let's just approach this with objective reasoning. This time follow my logic. Let's say someone said, "My Lord and Savior Bozo." A person takes that statement to task and it criticizes it. Bozo is not being criticized. The person calling Bozo Lord and Savior is one being criticized. Do you agree? Likewise, when Jamie Foxx calls Barack Obama Lord and Savior, Jamie Foxx is the one being taken to task for such a ludicrous and blasphemous statement. Objectively speaking, Barack Obama is not the one singled out for criticism. Do you agree?

Then Gravel, please precisely and exactly say what I distorted! You say that I did not include the whole quote by Jamie Foxx. To borrow a quote from Hillary, "what difference does it make?" Whether it is the whole quote are part of the quote, the meaning does not change. Jamie Foxx called Barack Obama lord and savior! Right?

Any reasonable person who knows anything about English grammar would say that a person who said, "Give honor to God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" would say that the Lord and Savior he is referring to is Jesus Christ. The first five words, "Give honor to God and" make no difference as to Jesus being the Lord and Savior. An elementary school child can even get that. Why can't you? A juvenile hearing a Jamie Foxx say "Give honor to God and our Lord and Savior Barack obama would know that Foxx is saying the Barack Obama is Lord and Savior. Why can't you? Who, besides you, would say that Jamie Foxx was not claiming that Barack Obama is lord and savior? The words, "Give honor to God" are irrelevant and not necessary for understanding that Jamie Foxx is saying that Barack Obama is Lord and Savior.

To comment on your last request you made of me, please respond with a direct answer to the following (which you previously deflected)

Gravel, if someone said, "Give honor to God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," who would that person be referring to as his Lord and Savior? Does it really take a lot of thought to come up with an answer? Now let's say that someone else said, "Give honor to God and our Lord and Savior Brack Obama." Who is that person referring to as his lord and savior? The first part of the statement, "Give honor to God," isn't even needed in order to figure out who is being referred to as Lord and Savior. Do you agree?

Gravel keeps closing his comments with 'God bless.' He's either gotten awful religious or he thinks it works as a good luck charm. Gravel, don't choose religion or luck over Jesus Christ.

Translation: "EaglesWings painted me in a corner with a couple questions I could not truthfully answer, so I bailed out."

Emelye - Remember this leftwing tactic - if you can't give the right answer, change the question. It seems to work for the liberals every time.

Checkmate.

Gravel, loneriderrr1 has the context correct. Break down his reasoning with thoughtful explanations as a rebuttal to what lonerider wrote below.

Gravel, you say "now that you're rather talkative again, what was your reason for omitting Foxx's first few words--you know about honoring his God?" Who is his God if he is calling Barack Obama his Lord and Savior? It's certainly not the God of Scripture but a false lord and savior Barack Obama. At best Foxx is very confusing. At worst, he is blasphemous. Right now, you don't even the see the confusion, let alone the blasphemy.

Where's Emelye? Out living her life.

There comes a point in these discussion threads where the dialog becomes inane, childish and all too often petty. I often have much better things to do with my time that participate.

I was wondering that too. I proposed some easy questions to her challenges the other day, and she bailed out. Typical.

Maybe she's doing some more "on-line research." Their 'words'...not hers.

Gravel, I'm not so sure you even know what the point of my piece was. The only thing you appear to get out of it is that it was a hit piece on Obama. Put aside your sujectivism and succintly articulate what the point of the letter was. If you want to use the title, that's fine. I feel that your perceived detection of any criticism of Obama puts you so much on the defensive that you consider even the slightest negative remark about him to be worse than a blasphemous statement like "Obama: Thy will be done, Thy kingdom come" issued by yet another supporter of his.

No it wasn't, Gravel. Sorry.

There's a difference between being monetarily rich and being greedy.
