OK, 5 non-comments. I guess it's hard to be more than emotional about things that are hidden and highly complex, but we should still be angry.

I spent my time in the miltary in what was then the USASA Feel freee to look it up). Even back then (Vietnam Era), the NSA had capabilities that most people would have been surprised to know existed. Spying on everyone wasn't possible then. I'm not sure it would have been avoided if it had been.

NSA is a entity with no budget and no official charter ... except to restrict its activities outside the USA. Limiting a spy agency is hard, so let's stick to enforcing the charter. Our allies may not be happy, but it may be all we can do.
