I agree with the report. New York is cutting music and art programs. To quote carlaw, 'sutdents of inability' often excel in these programs and do better in math and science because of them. Children are not robots you can just input data. Every child learns differently. NY needs to do something different.

Go*****eggs BoBBo Jr. The purpose of your comments should be to offer opinions about the information presented in the article, not viciously attack other bloggers, but we see where your priorities are. BOCES is available but go get some facts. This could mean 36 classes instead of 12 and offering more opportunities for adults in the evening (same buildings and facilities) JCC is just starting to offer more too. Many of these skills could be introduced at a younger age and we could certainly use more school to work programs. Now as to your insane accusation of racism: people of inability come in all colors and ethnic backgrounds. I'm really sorry my "first to comment" comments offend. Sorry, I don't remember any comments that you have ever made, but I will be watching from now on.

Oh my Jesus! Just to show unknowing you are CARLAW students with "inability" do not do well in Career/Technology programs, your comments are antiquated and BOCES is already available to all students. But I forget you know everything and are the first to blog on every single topic. Hey is this Obama's fault too and the left wing liberals. I am sure the right people Conservatives have a solution to these racist remarks

NY State prepares students with ability very well. They leave our schools and colleges to go elsewhere and become very successful. What we need to do is provide a realistic curriculum for students of inability with more VoTec training for jobs and skills they can use to support themselves. NY state has become a magnet for this type of student of inability because of generous entitlements and easy welfare to work implementation. You usually get more of something you reward.
