No, Mr. Mayor Steven Keefe, it was something much worse than politics! You knew you wife would be running for legislature in District4!! This man should have recused himself and resigned from the committee because of a conflict of interest. Why on Earth would the people in Fredonia's District 4 want one family to have so much power and control?? This is just plain wrong.

Many good points Carlaw...this mayor sounds like he has no clue what the general public want, and can afford. You set a salary based on what the area can afford. If someone does not want to run for office becauase the salary is to low, THEN DON'T! No one is twisting anyones arms to run. Keefe's points on health benefits and laptop computers is totally ridiculous.

You may have to pay more to get quality people. Remember the old saying, "You get what you pay for."

The people doing these jobs now aren't worth what they are paying them now. Why increase the pay for people who are new on the job and have no clue what they are doing.

Elected Politicians should not be a career. It should be voluntary, as it was for our forefathers. Making it a paid position is what has dragged this country down the tubes. If you want to be paid to serve the public become a clerk, cop or firefighter. If you want to represent the people....volunteer.
