I sure hope the DEC can get funding to buy the Bootey Bay Property. It is a wonderful to preserve the property from development. I would hope people come forward and help with the purchase. The town board is thinking only of money and the people in the area support the DEC. Who wants another ugly deveopment like the condo development in Bemus?

Another example of over-reaching government. Government is trying to control every aspect of our very existence!!!

One might ask what all the whining is about since the same board no doubt approved the 30% of land use that is not contributing to the tax rolls, eh? Government in action?

The town should purchase the property if the want to control development.

This would be a great addition to the Tom's Point property and make a real attraction in N. Harmony. The town supervisor is comparing apples and oranges: this last large piece of lakeshore is so much more important than state forest lands elsewhere in the town. Short sighted planning, all in the hope of getting a subdivsion of McMansions and the tax it'll produce-why? To avoid future hearing about going over the 2% tax cap? Cut the budget and preserve some lakeshore so people can actually access and enjoy the lake!
