Since when does The P-J allow anonymous op-ed pieces with no ability for the reader to assess the credibility of the source? How can positive dialogue occur on an issue when the author doesn’t have the integrity to print his name? And now there is a another new lake group? Who makes up this new “partnership?” Are they working at cross purposes to existing groups whose effectiveness in implementing the projects prioritized by the Chaut. Lake Management Commission’s Implementation Committee is tightly constrained by the lack of financial support from County government, local individuals and funding organizations? There is no lack of cooperation among local groups. Let’s be serious, the reason more large projects are not being done is the lack of funding. Working cooperatively with County, State, federal and private conservation organizations, over a million dollars of stream and farm conservation practices are & will be implemented in the next 2 years. The agencies are in place.

All well and good but they better not give this new "Authority" the power to tax. The County needs many things, but first and most important is lower taxes.
