It's insidious what the Obama administration has done to expand government intrusion. Obamacare has doctors asking patients if they own guns. The ongoing IRS scandal harassed those opposed to Obama policies and demanded personal information far in excess of what was needed. Why? Voter suppression of dissent is the most obvious. Then consider, the person in charge gets six-figures in bonuses and put in charge of the IRS going after people in enforcing Obamacare. Remember, the IRS will 16,500 new agents doing audits on anyone they choose. Do you really think Obama's IRS will be going after Dem. supporters based on what has been going on since Obamacare was passed?

The new agents will be busy giving information to the Obamacare death panels.

Cool down, McCool. Take a chill pill. Seriously you need to talk to a professional about your paranoia.

FedUpL8ly, "Obamacare has doctors asking patients if they own guns." Didn't see that one coming but I am not surprised that has come out of you. I sure would like to know why a doctor wants to know whether or not you own a gun. Be careful if you answer. You don't want to be strapped into the bed next to McCool.

It's funny how the government is being blamed in all this when the real culprits in the destruction of our privacy have been the marketing arms of corporate America whose goal it is to sell you more and more and more. Yes, if the government wants the info they can get it from the corporations but it's the corporations who are collecting it.

The laws based on the 4th amendment are falling way behind and our corporate owned Congress is doing little to nothing to remedy this situation. Stop blaming the executive branch, it's the Congress that's letting their owners get away with collecting as much info as they want from you.

Surely it is the Republicans fault. Obama's crowd that has been in power all this time, can't have anything to do with it. <snark>

Carlaw, that is just plain ridiculous. Are you still pushing Sarah Palins lies about death panels? Are you still looking for Obama's birth certificate?

The government IS out of control. The more information they have about us, the more control they can exert over us through legislation, regulation or executive fiat. It is not corporate America - we can get into the cozy, in-bed-together relationship some corporations have w/ government later.

Obamacare is the ultimate violation of privacy. The government will have every detail of your medical life, and then they will be making decisions about your health care and if you get any. The government who has all that information does control you. And, yes, Matilda, there are death panels, our government calls them IPAB, 15 unelected bureaucrats who will determine if you get a procedure.

That being said, you Obamacare devotees beware...you are going to be treated as poorly as the rest of us under this hideous bill, and you will be disliking it, wondering what happened to your medical care!!!!

The letter writer fails to point out many of the examples given are being tracked by PRIVATE CORPORATIONS rather than (or as well as) the government. Why? To pirate your information and sell it.

How does the writer feel about that? She never says. That's because she's been fed the false belief that government is the problem.

No, PEOPLE are the problem. TECHNOLOGY is the problem. More notably, powerful people with technology. Take the power from the gov't and someone else will obtain it and use it. Welcome to reality.

Howard, there's a lot you haven't seen coming. I can tell by your response you haven't even made a sincere effort to discover all the crap that's contained in the 2000+ pages of Obamacare and the more than 14,000 pages of regulations that have been written since. You're right there with the unions that supported Obamacare and are now complaining because they're just now starting to realize how lousy healthcare will be in the future.

Uh oh, the Big Bad Government is gonna take away my rights! You know what? Our government might have a number of problems but it sure is a far cry better than most in this world. People cry tyranny and oppression all the time. I'd love for these same people to visit an honest to goodness dictatorship some time and see what REAL tyranny is like.
