Latest argument against same sex marriage equality from right wing icon, Alan Keyes:

"Paul Fidalgo today noticed a speech Keyes delivered at a college in Michigan, where he made the case that the government can’t recognize gay rights, reproductive rights and the separation of church and state, just as we shouldn’t recognize the right of a person to pick their nose and eat their boogers."

The science disagrees with you, PhD1960.

and this, for 50s4ever:

"On July 24, New York will join the league of states that allow gay marriage. Meanwhile, demographic data show that this group is already united in another significant way: lower-than-average divorce rates." h t t p://w w w.usnews.c o m/news/articles/2011/07/06/divorce-rates-lower-in-states-with-same-sex-marriage

"The bottom line is that the science shows that children raised by two same-gender parents do as well on average as children raised by two different-gender parents," said Timothy Biblarz, a sociologist at the University of Southern California. "This is obviously inconsistent with the widespread claim that children must be raised by a mother and a father to do well."

Both studies were described in a literature review paper published in February 2010 in the Journal of Marriage and Family.

Many of those who oppose gay marriage and gay adoption charge that same-sex parents aren't good for kids, and that a child needs both a father and a mother to grow up to be a healthy adult. Research, however, shows that children of gay parents tend to fare just fine.

For example, one recent study looked at nearly 90 teens, half living with female same-sex couples and the others with heterosexual couples, showing that both groups fared similarly in school. Teen boys in same-sex households had grade point averages of about 2.9, compared with 2.65 for their counterparts in heterosexual homes. Teen girls showed similar results, with a 2.8 for same-sex households and 2.9 for girls in heterosexual families.

Another study found that kids with two moms or two dads were no more likely than their counterparts in "traditional" homes to engage in delinquent activities, such as damaging others' property, shoplifting and getting into fights.

Yep. That would make it healthy. Wait 'til you see the divorce rate of gender benders. Wasting your time PhD, these people can't recognize a gender, let alone the purpose in a social structure.

"Pedophiles harm kids. Gay couples do not. What part of this don't you understand?" Sorry to disagree, but gay couples do harm kids. Those who adopt, anyway. Kids need a mother and a father to be raised in a healthy home. Two dads won't work, two moms won't either. Children suffer when either is lacking.

You're not very convincing when you claim you aren't gay, but speak for millions of them. Everybody in NAMBLA thinks they are right, just like you, and they will use the same process to get their "civil rights."

There's the monkey. He isn't gay, but speaks for millions of them. There is nothing he can't blame on religion. Time this.

"NAMBLA promotes adults having sex with minors. That is not a good thing. I think that pretty much everyone agrees with that. Now, what has that got to do with same-sex marriage?" PERVERSION is PERVERSION. You can't pick and choose which is right and which is wrong. They're BOTH wrong. I think some folks need to take a plumbing course: Male part to female part= fine, male to male or female to female=leaks (doesn't work). It's only natural, by divine design.

"If organized religion continues to teach division and hate, people will continue to see it for what it really stands for." #1 Your not supposed to end sentences with prepositions. #2 If you really want to see where "division and hate" are taught, simply look at the Democratic Party's creedo/philosophy. The constantly paint those who would insert a semblance of logic into our gov't and society as evil. 180 degrees backwards.

For me, and surely many Christians, one of the most challenging parts of living my faith is balancing grace (compassion, humility, love & inclusion) with obedience to the truth as commanded through Christian doctrine. To be a follower of Christ does not mean to choose grace OR truth, but grace AND truth. Truth without grace crushes people and leads to a self-righteous legalism criticized in this letter. And grace without truth deceives people and leads to moral compromise of the commands Jesus repeatedly asks us to follow. Upholding the law in love is not easy to do and often results in the classic battle between the head and the heart. At the moment of decision, Christians must depend on the Holy Spirit to offer discernment to offer truth and grace as required.

Ya see here's what separates me from ralphie. I have tons of interests. From farming to manufacturing. He's got a one track mind. All he thinks about is a man sleeping with another man and he says he's not gay. Now don't we all find that a little creepy. I have negative goose bumps
