Apr-11-13 11:47 AM post: If social security money would of stayed untouched..." This should be: "...would HAVE stayed untouched..." PLEASE learn proper English. I frequently see this glaring error.

my last word on this topic,--take your calculator, that will necessitate moving off your little button, and calculate what percentage of 335,000 taxable income, the figure of $118,000 might be. If you come up with 18%, try again or replace the batteries. Honest Abe is watching.

Gio and Seadog - difference is marginal vs. effective.

My effective rate was about 14% this year. Not counting my SE tax which was 15%.

At least Obama paid 18%. Better than Mittens who made far more.

Although, I'm not sure what your point is, Seadog. Clearly, by raising taxes Obama has implicated himself and acknowledge he should be paying more by default.

see dog-I already answered your baseless tax accusation. You innocently? confused "earned income" with "taxable income" in your rush to embarrass the pres.and first lady. His "taxable income" was $335,026. --they paid $118,000. in fed tax--that's about 32%----seems pretty "fair share" to me --don't you agree---YES OR NO.

Mrs Gio: "With all the opinions here, any ideas?"

Ideas aren't mutually exclusive to opinions. More logical fallacy. Most ideas ARE opinions.

Mrs Gio: "Gio, try again without the emotion..."

MrsGio: " feel that most stimulus went to..."

LOL. An emotionally-based opinion was the response. I like using MrsGio's words against themselves.

so the stimulus rewarded mostly Obama supporting cities and unions and businesses----possibly, however based on the 100+ republican states, cities and districts presented in a previous post, I would strongly disagree--and given the fact that "unions" are not closed shops, I believe non "union" workers also benefitted. Just my humble opinion.

At one point, early in his first term, Obama fashioned himself as being a Lincoln-esk president. Guess not. He and his regime are the polar opposite of Lincoln's guidelines and wisdom. Wonder when you lefties are going to wake up.

Gio, i did not disagree with you, not that it matters, i respect your response, its not that your response is incorrect but I feel that most stimulus went to police, teachers, green projects, building projects, auto workers, pensions, cities with union public employee jobs, bigger gov, many new hires in washington and other gov employees, all union jobs who contribute to obama.
