Leave The Boy Scouts Alone

March 29, 2013

To The Reader’s Forum: “Boy Scouts Of America At A Crossroads” reads more like an op-ed than a legitimate article because its advocacy for gay scouting is so apparent....

Now, I admit that I was born at a very young age, and as a result I was very naive at the time. But even then, thinking back on it, I understood that unity was better than division, hate, and intolerance.

Does the PJ understand this, printing 3 Jeff Short articles in far less than 2 weeks? Do our local pastors understand this? And how do our pastors have so much time to spend dividing us instead of loving and uniting us??

I was born young. But some grow up stupid. Lets start uniting, and stop dividing. And lets stop pretending that those who want to divide us are some kind of 'moral leader'.

They aren't. And we are better than this.

to jamestownfan18 I write, Pastor Jeff has the same amount of time as all of the rest of us that comment on this site. (lol) I also want to stress that God DOES love all of us, it's our SIN that God hates, it is our SIN that divides us. It is THE CHOICES of the people that divide us. In my opinion Pastor Jeff is trying to "teach" you that SIN (our actions) is MORALLY WRONG. Can you understand MORALLY WRONG?? Personally, I don't want the SIN of SEXUAL IMMORALITY forced on my boy or The Boy Scouts.

If people "choose" to be gay, then go ahead and be gay, just don't force your sin on me or The Boy Scouts. I pray for you to know the truth someday. JESUS CHRIST CAN SET YOU FREE from ALL SIN!!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!! (Love ya:)!!)

Pastor, please stop using their language. We don't have to call homosexual deviants "gay." Why do you think libs put so much importance on enforcing that? It normalizes and trivializes that loathsome behavior. You stupid Christians fell into their trap by defending morality exclusively on religious grounds - and you are too self absorbed to see your folly yet. When, on top of that, you adopt their language, there is nothing left for them but the mopping up. Otherwise, good letter.

The Boy scouts is a private church oriented organization. If you don't like their rules then don't join. No one is forcing you to join the scouts just as no one is forcing you to go to church.

There are two big lies in the homosexual legitimization drive. One is that it is an equality issue. Homosexuals have always had equality. We all were subject to the same marriage restrictions. The second lie is that we are not entitled to "discriminate" against them. Homosexuality involves behavior. We have every moral right, an obligation in fact, to discriminate on the basis of behavior. Discrimination on the basis of behavior is universal and inevitable. It is involved in nearly everything all of us do.

Unfortunately, every boy scout group I've ever seen is run by so many incompetent and nasty people, it's almost like the Eagle scouts that make it through are the ones that survived the stupidity. Take a look at the dwindling numbers. People ain't stayin' away due to who they're attracted to.

No we will not leave the boy scouts alone. 1. Jesus gave his commandment: "love one another as I have loved you". Sin is not adhering to the ten commandments and the one Jesus gave. Simply put your simplistic, YOU decided you don't like gay people, end of story. YOU use the Bible to justify YOU lack of love for all of God's children. God judges you are out of your league and beyond your scope of responsibility (as is often the case of fundamental preachers and your one)the job of God id filled and we are not accepting applications. The Bible can and is used for every manner of justification for not following the ten commandments and the one Jesus left, and your simply another fundamentalist that has done that. Love not judgment, love not examining your neighbors business, love not pronouncing to the world YOUR important opinions-try humility, "love one another as I have loved you".

So if your child is in school and sitting next to a gay kid, doing an activity or project with that kid kid, is your kid going to be gay? Is that student forcing his gayness on your kid? Rediculous. I believe "god" said love thy neighbor. Not love thy neighbor only if they are straight, Christian and are morally correct. Hipocritical nonsense. Those who don't understand, fear. Stop being scared of gays and god and science and just enjoy life. If some day "god" judges me and doesn't like what I have done, I will tell him where to shove it on my way to hell. I could use a little warm weather right now.

When did they start teaching sex education in the BSA anyways? Does anyone knoe the true historical story behind why HOMOSEXUALITY is wrong? Pastor Short is teaching to hate. Give the space to someone who really deserves it.

Why do I get the feeling that the pastor's father was of the "if black kids want to join the Boy Scouts let them form their own group, the Black Scouts" variety?

Thank you Pastor Jeff for loving people enough to tell them the truth! May the spirit of anti-Christ be bound in this area and on our country! Greater love hath no man than this, that a man should lay his life down for His friends! John 15:13 Thank you for your sacrifice and for the suffering of persecution you will receive for speaking truth into lies! Blessed are ye when men persecute you and revile you for my name sake! Matt. 5:10 Jesus is Lord, Jesus is risen & alive.

OMG! You got to be kidding. This is supposedly "Holy Week" and this idiot not only gets 3 letters in two weeks, but is given this print. (maybe the Post Journal, is beginning to show what is wrong with religion too!)

To Maddog80: A cult leader? Possibly. You certainly are entitled to your opinion. Amazing though that the entire world measures time to this cult leader. Even more amazing is the abuse that Jesus endured throughout his ministry, and then to go through the most horrific death imaginable - and he had the power and choice to stop it. I cannot think of any cult leaders that would/have done this for their belief. When it comes down to it, the cult leaders save their skin from suffering and death. To go further, look at the Apostle Paul. One of the most vile, feared Christian haters and abusers that there was at the time. Upon Christ appearing to Paul on the Damascus road, Paul was converted. He believed in Jesus so much that he devoted the rest of his life to ministry, extreme suffering, torture and abuse. He then goes on to write much on the New Testament with beautiful words of wisdom and eloquence such that the world has ever known. Again, I cannot think of any cult (continue

I probably could have expressed that better. I meant to express a generational continuity, not attack anyone's dad in particular. But you have to admit the closing of Jeff's letter sounds just like an argument from the '50's - leave us alone and you blacks go form your own group. What a despicable attitude.

You religious folks that support this religion leader are the immoral ones!

He and Mel are what is bringing you to the collapse. Look around you and answer these questions: - How much money is your church getting today versus 30 years ago? - How many people are in attendance today versus 30 years ago? - Why was it / is it ok for religious folks to sexually abuse children? - Why do you promote HATE and not Love? - Who's responsibility is it to worry about others so-called sins? - Why don't you accept neighboring religions such as Jewish and Muslim? - Why is your God better than mine?

Doesn't anyone understand it's the gay community dividing us. It's the lefty liberal crying that keep trying to shove there agendas down the throats of the regular folks. I don't think it's necessary for kids to grow up thinking its normal for a man to bed down with another man. As Alice puts it yes it's icki
