A thousand illegal aliens who reside in the country should be put to work cleaning it out prior to applying for a legal status.

Every County resident (rich or poor) is a stakeholder in this issue. I really hope it is kept on the front burner. Even if you do not go near the lake ... the health of this resource affects everybody directly or indirectly.

When high volume hydrofracking is approved- the argument about lake ownership will be a big issue. There are millions of dollars of gas royalties which could be used to clean up the lake without one taxpayer dollar used.

Cutting the weeds and having a bunch of corporate sponsored people slogging around in the lake for a photo op also does nothing but give a few days of reprieve in that particlar section of the lake. If corporations want to help they need to give money for a long term, scientific remedy that will clear the problem up, not hide it for a little while and act like they are all about Volunteerism. Until the biological/chemical soup that is the lake is made healthy again, which will be nearly impossible, this argument will go on and on.

Manatees are almost extinct, they can't even survive the open ocean without getting destroyed by boats. It would die in a summer. They live in warm water, not cold water anyways.
