correction--lonerider--St. James did serve meals years ago -however that was discontinued and replaced by St. Susans. Our church members serve on the board and volunteer their time to the center.

After a quick phone call--St. Susan's[St. James R.C.] is the only church sponsored meal program in the area--there are several "food pantries"[ Salvation Army]--but none supply meals for the needy. Please correct me.........

Monkey, all you haver to do is answer a question posed to before you asked me the one you want answered, how is your judging pople as bigots, intolerant and homophobic consistent with your version of liberal Christianity which keeps telling other people not to judge? How did you have time yesterday to comment on this blog on Sunday when there are lot of sick people, hungry people, lonely people whom you could have seen?

really mel--I'm not a man of the cloth --you are. I can only look at your comments and give my opinion--and that opinion is and has been based on your track record that you are unable to separate your political bias, from your theology-I may very well be dead wrong, but that is my position. God bless.....

Gio, with all due respect, I really beginning to think that you cannot even distinguish between what is liberal theologically and what is liberal politically. Bringing up the Falwells is not a political issue per se. What does merely bringing up a name with a label attached to them mean? That would be like me just saying the name of left-wing minister Jim Wallis. Simply saying his name says little in fact about liberal politics or even theology. Maybe he might be a key for you. What makes a Jim Wallis politically left wing and what can you say about his theology to show whether it is lilberal or conservative?

Monkey, when you say, "This would be the perfect opportunity for Mel to prove me wrong. All he has to do is tell us what he does for the community," this would be the perfect opportunity for you to say how your judging others to homophobic, bigoted and intolerant is consistent with your version of liberal Christianity which tells others not to judge.

Monkey, when you say, "I see Rev Mel is still dodging my question," just as you are oontinuing to dodge the question you have been asked before the one you which you want me to answer. How is it consistent with your version of liberal Christianity to judge me a sham, coward, homophobic, narrow-minded etc. when you insist that we ought nor to judge?

"you can't be serious" mel--ok your way--the religious-political- right--is that example enough?--You know exactly what the Faldwells of the world were and are about.....

Gio,really... you can't be serious? Here's a test: clearly distinguish the difference between political and theological? What's the difference between theological liberalism and poltical liberalism and give me an example?

Yes, I separate them. To put it simply, the liberal Christian theologically tends to deny the virgin birth, the historical account of Genesis, the deity of Christ, the vicarious atonement, the inerrancy of Scripture and a host of other false doctrines. That is theological. It has nothing to do with anything inherently political. Liberal Christians theologically tend to be liberals poltically taking stands on moral issues contrary to the Bible such as redefining marriage and the murder of unborn children.

I should rephrase my question---based on your very public partisanship, do you have any intention of separating the two?
