I'd rather boil the real problem. That should be a cure.

for somebody just barely out of the trees, you seem to have a high opinion of yourself. Just becauae you label it,doesn't make it so. You still haven't found any proof have you. That must be frustrating for someone like you. Can't you at least come up with peanut butter or something?

With the number of people claiming to be gay, I no longer believe they were "born that way". There would have to be something seriously defective about the air or water in the USA. We'd be like England.

I'm normal. I don't have a phobia. Except arachniphobia .Not a heterophobe, not a theophobe. Not a racist unless you think a white person has no right to proud of their race, and calls them the way he sees them. Come out of the closet into the light and get your bratty finger off the button. Then you can join intelligent conversations.

If you aren't gay fan18 why do you insist on making the same comments on every letter regardless of topic?

Jtown, my guess would be that they would use electro therapy to shock the gay out of their kid. Or perhaps send them to military school.

Homophobia is not attractive.

But again, I ask those of you who claim not to 'care' what homosexuals do, then why are you here on this thread so often?

A coherent explanation would be nice [although unlikely]...

thanks..

Is there a "regulation" that prevents an eagle scout, a gay eagle scout from receiving an award that is earned? Is it "bullying" to support that gay eagle scout, by those "activists?" Just curious.

Again, I agree with 50s! If a group takes government funding, then they must comply with government regulations. That's my basic problem with the BSA on this issue--they want the money, but don't want to comply.

"The federal government made it way too painful for any dorporation [sic] to NOT have the policies in place to please the lobbyists from LGBT activists."

This is completely untrue. Why should I read the rest of your post when you start with a fallacy right at the beginning?

It's still legal under federal and about 30 state laws to fire someone, to deny them service in public accommodations and to deny them housing simply because of their sexual orientation. Large corporations have added sexual orientation to their nondiscrimination policies because it's good business. You really need to get your facts straight if you want people to take you seriously.

"The only problem is, it is not immoral to be "black," "Christian," "Jewish" or "blind". It is immoral to be gay."

But it was! Everyone of these group has been persecuted based on moral grounds. We just don't believe it now. For Christians and Jews, just look at history (and not that far back). For black people, I clearly remember hearing as a child (in church, in Jamestown!) that quite a few people believe that black skin in the Biblical mark of Cain, so there is no need for equal treatment. For blind people, a handicap was a clear marker of sin for centuries. Do we believe that now? No. Did people believe it as vigorously as people at talking about gays being immoral now? Yes!

The federal government made it way too painful for any dorporation to NOT have the policies in place to please the lobbyists from LGBT activists. The BSA is showing a great deal of courage standing up for their values. They should not take any fed funding, just like everybody else that doesn't want to be pushed by the fed's. Once you take their 30 pieces of silver they own you. Bill clinton proved that with making us tied to Mexican invasion by severing fed funds to anyone who didn't go along.

"The only problem is, it is not immoral to be "black," "Christian," "Jewish" or "blind". It is immoral to be gay."

You assume, quite incorrectly, that being gay is as easy to change as one's religion or favorite food. Since your assumption is patently incorrect it follows that your entire statement is false.

If the BSA wants to discriminate, they can do so. The Supreme Court said so. They cannot, however, expect donors to keep giving them money when BSA policies so significantly conflict with donor policies.

Yet another Christian promoting the "poor me, I'm a victim of those mean gays." It would be laughably pathetic if this kind of thing didn't cause as much harm as it does.

Pastor Short engages in a common tactic of the religious right wing in that he blames this huge, immensely powerful but nebulous "gay lobby" for bullying those poor Boy Scouts of America. Never mind that the people who are asking the BSA to reconsider their exclusionary and prejudicial policy are not gay organizations but large corporations whose internal nondiscrimination policies include sexual orientation. They just feel - as is their right, of course - that donors shouldn't give money to groups that violate their policies. Pastor Short ignores this fact, apparently because to acknowledge that would deflate his false martyrdom at the hands of the evil LGBTs.

Howard you are deluded. Don't bother trying to explain how it takes a racist to commit a crime against gays.

Hitler thought it was immoral to be Jewish. Radical Muslims think its immoral to be Christian. The KKK thinks it is immoral to be Black. It all depends on what foggy, cracked lens you are viewing the situation with.

When I was in the service, homosexuality was forbidden. Later it was don't ask, don't tell, now it's fine. Next, it not only will be part of your sensitivity training, they will be on the short list for promotion because they had been oppressed for so long.

According to McAlpine, the PCSO warned him not to say homosexual conduct is sinful because it would be a crime. The preacher told the officer that it is not a crime to describe same-sex practice as a sin.

Police officers later arrived on the scene during another of McAlpine’s sermons. They arrested him and charged him with causing “harassment, alarm or distress” contrary to Section 5 of the Public Order Act. They claim he made the alleged offending remark in a voice loud enough to be overheard by others.

According to the Telegraph, the act was introduced in 1986 to tackle violent rioters and football hooligans. Its use against a preacher has caused concerns among Christians that it is being used to curb religious free speech.

At the police station, law officers took McAlpine’s finger prints, a palm print, a retina scan and a DNA swab. He was later interviewed and released on bail on the condition that he did not preach in public.

Preacher Arrested in UK For Calling Homosexuality Sinful

London, England, May 4, 2010 / 08:36 am (CNA/EWTN News).- In a case which has disturbed religious freedom advocates, a preacher in the English town of Workington was reportedly arrested for describing homosexual conduct as a sin after a public sermon. A Baptist from Workington, the 42-year-old Dale McAlpine was preaching in the town on April 20. He said he never spoke about homosexuality during his public sermon, which was delivered from the top of a stepladder, the Telegraph reports.

McAlpine said that he later quietly listed homosexual practice among a number of sins referred to in 1 Corinthians during a debate with a woman passerby.

She was then approached by a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), who spoke with her briefly.

The officer approached McAlpine and identified himself as a homosexual who was a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender liaison officer. He said a complaint had been made against the Baptis
