For All The Postal Service BashersMarch 17, 2013The recent editorial in The Post-Journal bashing the Postal Service also comes as no surprise. What these bashers don’t seem to know or don’t want the public to know are the real fact.... Showing 6 of 6 comments

Do I sense glee at the prospedct that Postal emplyees will be paid less or even laid-off? Have we gotten that stupid?

2 observations. Not closing these small, often part-time offices, is irresponsible. Also the fact that it costs the same to mail a letter to Seattle as it does to mail something across the street makes no. They survived the fax technology but no cost email is going to cut their business to next to nothing - sooner than later

The post office is doing what all other major business are now starting to do. They are using a growing number of "temporary" workers to do the job at hand. Also those temporary workers are receiving a $6/hr pay cut in the near future.

Randy Jacobs was also a mail carrier for most of his adult life. Maybe has some influence on his opinion.

But maybe if they held their employees accountable there would not be as many issues. Like when the mailman stopped in front of their house in the mail truck and beer cans rolled out from under the seat. When they called the Post Office they were told there was nothing they could do about it. Unfortunately this mailman sheds a bad light on all the good ones.

Thanks for setting the record straight Randy. So many people have misconceptions about the post office. Most think it is funded by the government rather than the government using it as a cash cow.
