"Last week, Sen. Young and her husband discovered they were improperly receiving a STAR exemption on a ******inium they own in East Greenbush, N.Y., in addition to their primary residence in Olean." They did not "discover" it. They were BUSTED.

This whole matter would be comical, if it wasn't so disgusting.

There is no way she or her husband couldn't have known that they were getting that STAR rebate on the condo in Albany.

THIS WENT ON FOR 11 YEARS!!

It is plainly written, in big bold letters, with the rebate numbers by it, on the tax bill.

Also, up until a few years ago (when the Governor killed the program) they were receiveing the EXTRA STAR REBATE CHECK on this property!!!

What did they think those checks were for? I presume the Youngs BOTH signed and cashed all of those rebate checks every October. Didn't they?

Did anyone in the local media bother asking that question of them?

"Last week, Sen. Young and her husband discovered they were improperly receiving a STAR exemption on a ******inium they own in East Greenbush, N.Y., in addition to their primary residence in Olean" Nice characterization... 1) She did not discover it. 2) Once tax payers found out, they called her on it. 3) The cascade of blame, she and her cronies went on, is epic even on a local scale. 4)Her politics and party are actively seeking to destroy public services. 5) Her children have somehow managed to secure employment in education while thousands of NY teachers are being layed off per year. 6) The esteemed university they graduated from is coined as "non-competitive" nationally. 7)America needs the best and these entitled idiots are not it.

Honest mistakes. Good lessons learned. Make sure to cover your a(( so you aren't treading water at some point in time. 101. TAKE NOTHING FOR GRANTED whether things are *perfect* or not .
