With great sadness I read this news of Mr. Keeney. One of his many roles was that of "Jack the limo driver" and I was privileged to have him drive me on several early morning trips to the Buffalo airport. I always enjoyed the way he joyfully engaged in conversation on the long ride up. I had no idea of his background and on one ride we conversed at length about football. Maple Grove had just played at Panama and I was going on and on about how I disliked the fence around the field because it was so hard for visiting fans to see over it. "Jack" politely listened to my complaints then, in his gentle way, explained it was he who helped design the field that way and gave the reasons for the fence. He then humbly told of his connection to Panama and JACK KEENEY FIELD!!!! I was red with embarrassment, when I realized my driver, to whom I was ranting on and on, was the namesake of the field! Yet, as always, Mr. Keeney handled me with grace and his wonderful smile.

Nice article, but headline could have been much better for front page for a well appreciated community man.

I had occasion to meet Jack Keeney for the first time a few years ago. I've never met a man more dedicated to the betterment of the Village of Celoron. Some may have disagreed with him politically, but no one would question his desire to improve the village. This is a tragic loss for Celoron.

I met Mr. Keeney in September of 2012 at The "Step up for Autism" walk/benefit in Celeron. What a GREAT man he was!!!! He and his granddaughter has so much fun that day! He will be sorely missed my so many. I send my deepest condolences to his family and friends.
