A gay scoutmaster is not considered fit at this time. Hence the criticism.

Diversity has become a requirement,a mandate, federal policy, state and corp followung to comply. A fantasy world set in place by the left that villifies conservatism, People will be jailed if they don't have a fortune to steal. Nothing can slake the thirst of a *****y petty bureaucrat.

Interesting. What is the definition of "good and fit?"

When are the Girl Scouts going gay/lesbian? Cookies sales would quadruple over night with a few new cookies and box covers! Hell, if they are going to destroy the US at least let us have some fun with it! Just don't put Michelle Obama on the box. Good Lord, she could eat all of the healthy food in the world, but that simian face is a killer.

Has anybody threatened to jail you for not supporting gay rights? That is what I don't get.

Ridicule is much different. Maybe not right, but certainly not a matter of law.

All laws are enfoced by threat of jail, financial ruin, and violence legal to subdue to arrest and detain. If I exercise my right to express my dislike for a group on the favored list of the government, I'm liable to be subjected to any of this, and certainly ridicule from the supporters who for some reason have more freedom of speech.

If the Boy Scouts allow gays in as leaders then I would not want any boys I know to join. I would not encourage my sons to join.I will have very little repect for them if do. Pitiful what gays are trying to do to society. If you are gay ,shut up and live you life however, but don't tell me about it please.

Lecter-if you don't find them there, they aren't clean enough. I have thought it should not be a point of contention, but recent demands of acceptance under threat of law pushed me to the defensive side.

Actually 50's it is nothing like that. No one is saying they belong in either of those places. But as long as there are two consenting adults, who really cares?

Let me preface the following statement by saying that in Scouting is not the place for sexual activity, discussions, of influence. This is one place where it doesn't belong! Speaking As a current and long time leader and former Boy Scout (28 years involved in Scouting) it is time for the National organization to change. How can we teach tolerance in every other aspect, but blatant intolerance towards sexual orientation? Sexual orientation does not make you any less of a Scout or leader. I do agree that leaders should not influence homosexuality, either for or against.

To the editor: Is there a reason why the 7:05 PM poster still has a P-J account? I've seen several accounts pulled for much less than this person spews practically every day. Let me guess. Friend? Relative? In-law? P-J employee? Advertiser?

Gat people don't have to be closeted. They just have to understand that everyone doesn't have to accept them. They are different. They are the opposite sex, and don't belong in my bathroom or shower. Unless you think I can shower with your wife or daughter? Same thing.

I see no reason why people feel the need to force gay people to be in the closet and hide who and what they are.

Do scout meetings need to be "about" sexuality? Certainly not. But as kids get older they do engage in activities like dating. So, if a male scout is dating another male they can be kicked out. Look at the case of the about to be Eagle Scout that was kicked out right before obtaining his badge because it was discovered it was gay.

Although the idea mrsgio assumes I am gay because I defend equal rights is quite amusing.

It is also interesting that nobody acknowledges that good and fit scout masters are also not allowed to serve.

"The rest of the scouts don't have a need to pronounce their sexuality..."

I don't think gay scouts are necessarily pronouncing their sexuality either, but if they are known to be gay, they are not allowed to join or they are booted. That doesn't mean they discuss it at all.

Heterosexual adults often don't discuss their sexuality but we can usually tell by things like who they date, etc. The same holds true for homosexuals. This should simply not be a factor in deciding who gets to join as far as I'm concerned.

Its not enough to be a scout, Its all about being a Gay scout. Well, The rest of the scouts dont seem to have a need to pronounce their sexuality and I dont want my kids discussing their sexuality or anyone elses.

I perfectly understand and think you have every right to say whatever you think, not matter how ill informed, bigoted or hate filled it might be. I can't decide who says what or how anybody feels.

What I can do, and will do is to respond to your comments and feelings. And if I want to call it hate filled or bigoted I will do so. Free speech does not mean that your comments are not free from criticism. What it does mean is that the government can't shut your mouth and stop you from expressing your views.
