Get the welfare riff raff off their lazy *** and make them deliver these poor people their lunches!! The people who receive them are people who worked all their lives and paid taxes so we can build nice apartments for all the Hispanics and "others" to live free and reproduce

In Thomas Sowell's column this week, he asked the question: If there was a government agency who's only jobs were to build statues of Benedict Arnold and give life saving medicines to children, where would cut be made in hard times? If you answered medicines for children, you would be correct. Cuts must be made where the loudest outcry will come from, so no cuts will have to be made.

This state, city, region is a complete disgrace. Make the Sheriff's do it in their 280,000 dollar RV.
Who the heck have we become to even think about this happening the US?

There is no such thing as a free lunch as the saying goes. Everyone on medicaid etc. can afford to donate something to have food prepared and brought to their house. I would.

Howard, slow down Im not bashing Tom Reed, I'm merely pointing out as our elected official, he should be screaming at the top of his lungs that this is an injustice. Politicians need to be held accountable, have common sense, be in touch with the common folk and "do the right thing". We the people need to convey this to the business as usual crowd !

Well, this probably won't go far - but let's try to do what the Goverment won't! Donations can be accepted directly on www-mowjamestown-org or I've started a campaign here: www-gofundme-com/292hvg?pc=fb_d We can point the finger at the Government, or we can pay it forward!

"4 agrees and 0 disagrees about bashing Tom Reed".
You can't be that ignorant are you? The agrees were for "Cut millions in aid to Anti-American Muslim Countries" which Barry will NEVER DO!

These "cut" was not even a cut only a smaller increase in the budget from last year. Only the government can raise a budget by 10 percent and then decrease the increase to 5 percent and then say the made a 5 percent cut.

But no cut to welfare. What does that tell you, the cuts are focused on people who vote.

4 agrees and 0 disagrees about bashing Tom Reed. That tells me that the "conservatives" here don't even know who Tom Reed is! LOL

Emelye has it down perfectly. There will be more disagrees than agrees but that is demographics. Let that billionaire take thousands of dollars in loophole tax breaks while the poor go hungry. Remember all that spin about Grandma dying because of Obamacare? Now thanks to the conservative house it really is a likelihood now!

Obama propaganda! Fireman first threats. Only 40 people will lose meals on wheels in area, but Obama will get much more distance on this than if he said home land security will lose a few guards on Lake Erie.

The sequester was designed to hurt, to make it so unpalatable to Congress that they would be forced to compromise. Unfortunately any kind of compromise was obstructed by the TEApublicans in the House of Representatives and the other corporate owned politicians who figured any cut, no matter where, is better than closing tax breaks and loopholes for their wealthy elite patrons.
The American people chose these people to represent them and now they can reap the consequences.

And yet we have money for waterfront projects, green projects, etc.
The politicians have their priorities a little mixed up.

Funny how this program is being cut due to the sequester. The sequester is a cut TO FUTURE SPENDING and not one current budget has been cut. More scare tactics by Obama, but I'll bet Air Force One will be flying to Martha's Vineyard this Spring.

Shameful tactics by the federal government. This is Obama's temper tantrum at its worst! He could cut welfare benefits by a small fraction of 1 percent and these Meals on Wheels programs could easily be funded. How about we get some of that Solindra money back to provide meals for senior citizens?

Ridiculous! If I were the mayor of Jamestown I would come up with a way to find lunches for 22 people. Dunkirk mayor 8 lunches? Sinclairville Area 10 lunches??? or If I were the director of Social Services I would push harder to fully implement the Welfare to Work program for the able bodied to find 40 lunches for the frail. Heck, if she would do that we could all have a bag lunch. These are press releases with no hard questions ever asked to make elected officials accountable to the people. Come on reporters, you have an important job! Do it.
