One more reason to get out of ny along with hundreds of other reasons, regulations create more cash for the government. They love regulations. Cant wait to get out! After hundreds of thousands of dollars, wheres the progress?

One more sign of a faulty septic system is a green Lake Chautauqua that smells like a porta potty with closed swimming beaches!.

The cost to thousands of homeowners will be huge when only a few may be faulty. Moving away from the lake (far away) seems to be the answer. The epa continues to blindly blame things when they cant solve the natural events, ever heard of peat bogs and how they form naturally?

Thank you for covering the septic maintenance workshop last night. The statement attributed to me that septic systems need to be inspected every 6-12 months is not correct. What I said was if you have an effluent filter on the outlet baffle of your septic tank this filter needs to be taken out and rinsed off every 6-12 months. This is a simple process that takes 10-15 minutes to complete. The effluent filter helps protect your dispersal field and the lake by keeping solids inside the septic tank. A full septic system inspection is a very good idea but is usually only necessary every 3-5 years. Thank you - Bob Eichinger
