Lombardi doesn't sound like a bloody Irish name to me. Coincidence?

Discontinue the one at Christmas too. Too long and boring to watch walking advestisements and naked kids in a hot tub parading through town.

its not always about revenue, sometimes the benefits of something go way further than the all mighty dollar. also even though i don't condone the language i do agree with the point on pick and choosing ethnicity based programs.

The parade was a floundering event that for the amount of money it cost didnt engage enough of the community. The JRC is doing new things and trying to spend money on things that prove impact. Also, the JRC is not the City government and Pete was promoted to Executive Director because he proved to have high impact with his projects in the neighborhoods. Jamestown can do better than a luck luster parade that does not add much value to the entertainment mix of downtown.

I'm surprised Gerry, Celoron or Warren haven't swooped in to capitalize on Jamestown's inability to keep any attraction going downtown.

like to see Lombardi cancel the rican celebrations in the fall and see what happens, oh, that may look discriminative.

ok so lets get this straight, they cancel another event that is designed to build community involvement and pride and enthusiasm in the youth of this city. The alternative is to keep open the farmers market so i cannot park near my bank every friday so the elderly have something to do. Last i checked the bored old people were not out getting in trouble because they are being ignored. Also as a father of a 6 year old didnt realize hotel Jamestown residents were paying the taxes in this community anymore

Maybe every other year or just occasionally. The other events are great too and probably more attended.

Didn't this bring excitement and people together?

Big or Small events are good for the community.

This is very sad. My daughter loved this every year. Yes, it does bring some of "jamestowns finest" to the area, but it was a good time. Sad.

Lombardi must be someones nephew. He lands one cushy do nothing job after another with the city.

No need to turn the Chadakoin River green anymore...Chautauqua Lake is already doing that!

Yes indeed momcat. If the event was still on these same folks would be complaining about spending the money on something so stupid
