The decision to close a school is never easy....

20 kids in a classroom to many? Gheesh where I grew up it was 35-40 of us crammed into a class room. Matter of a fact, there were so many students they needed Portables for some of the grades to cram us in like sardines. We turned out fine because we had no choice and we liked it too. You can get away with a LOT more stuff in a class room when someone at the front is distracting the teacher while we pass notes in the back!!!

I don't, but others in the area think its too much and their kids will not learn that well.
do you think 20 kids is a large class?
I know when I was in school my class size was close to 20 kids from K all the way up to 5th grade at Cassadaga's elementary school. So my opinion, LARGE classroom sizes are fine, yes I know its a little harder to teach a large class but they did it just fine when I was there, and they do it at the High School just fine, so why not in the Elementary School. Also it will make it easier going into 6th grade because you will know everyone. Close the Elementary School in Cassadaga, and turn it into a Community Center on one side and put in Senior Independent Living on the other. As for the teachers Move them to Sinclairville or have them run after school programs for the kids and during the day they could run adult classes.
"The decision to close a school is never easy...." LOL! It seems to be a heck of a lot easier than deciding to build Apple Yard housing projects these days... in a place where there are NO jobs. Too bad. Once Kathy Young and Cuomo get done? They'll be busing students to the nearest CITY or COUNTY school. Do some research folks, because it is coming.
It is always funny to see how much money they will save....look at the paper today and look at jps and the money they are short....I thought jsp was going to save money....the admin at rogers ended up in other buildings no savings...jsp really needs to trim the fat at the top and the ad building....to many chiefs and no cuts to the administration in sight...
