'We want to be sure to protect the charm and character of the village,' Johnson states. An interesting concern when one is next to a KFC and Taco Bell, across the street from a large car dealer, and of course just down the road is a lumber/building materials business. Understand Johnson respecting the attitude of Lakewood politicians; especially interesting to see the elected officials work to keep different car dealers out. I wonder if it has anything to so with a local car dealer who wants a monopoly, and just happens to own several high priced properties Lakewood.

I heard that McFadden Ford in Jamestown leased the building where Crawford furniture on Farimont will be. I heard they have to put in a firewall since Grossmans lumber is next door. It would be interesting to know what rules they must go by. That will be a big operation. Talk about traffic with the Y next door.

It makes one wonder why one and not another, that area is almost all commercial.

Let's court some real businesses to the area such as a Kohl's or Target, Lakewood needs to think outside the car lot box!

Why is everybody so down on car lots? We are a poor country. We don't have enough businesses. Someone wants to open a local one, not a chain. Why should we give them a hard time? Gee, KFC and Taco Bell...how much more charm do you need to protect. Wake up, folks! It's not 1965, and we don't have lots of disposable income from wages from our prosperous manufacturing industries anymore. If things turn around, the car lot will be priced out of the property. If they don't (and that's much more likely), they will add something to the local economy.

Parkside Lincoln Mercury used to be in the Mall, then later at Grossmans.

Car dealerships in Lakewood arent a new idea, why do you think Toyota moved from Foote Ave, to Lakewood.

If the guy follows the zoning laws , building codes etc let him earn a living.
