CAN YOU IMAGINE THE TPARTY PATRIOT ALTERNATIVE TO CUOMO? Collective bargaining -gone. Legimate and fair elections-gone. Voter suppression -no problem. War on women's rights-initiated. War on minorities--initiated. Violent gun reform--who needs it. And so on----

Cuomo was voted into office by a majority of NYS voters, just like Obama was legally elected by a majority of US voters. Calling it a "monarchy" or "like Nazi Germany" is simply childish petulance at losing the popular election. You are part of the MINORITY party and you need to deal with it.

Nothing like monarchy when you want to get something done.

Trying to stop the daily carnage from gun violence is not a "scare tactic". Cuomo outsmarted the opposition again. Just like with same-sex marriage, he just did it. By the way, I noticed the world hasn't ended because we have same-sex marriage in NYS.

it's been reported that 70-80% of NRA members are in favor of universal background checks. Nothing can prevent anything that has already happened. The hope is that this reform at least, may help in the future. It is already successful in keeping some weapons off the steet, and sending those "criminals to the long rest they deserve. But what do the majority in this debate know? They are up against one of the most fiece and powerful lobby groups in the country-and money buys influence and votes.

What reform would have prevented that allie? Really. Show some of that famous evidence you harp about.

strange--the agendas as I've read and heard are identical--"please do something, anything, to protect our children and other victims." Therefore using their logic, "blame" should be evenly divided between president and families for responding.

It's the politicians that are using the murder of those children that are using it for political agendas like Cuomo did and Obama is trying to.

hopefully no one believes that the parents of those murdered innocent children, who beg for some form of reform are pushing an "agenda."

How about the left wing "fringe" that uses tragedy of little kids as a scare tactic to push their agenda through? What would you call them?

That's a good one allie. What do you call school kids being taught diversity of sex roles and how to use ******s in public school? Maybe if that was a video game you'd approve it?

I do not consider the nra fringe, that markets a gun video directed at 4 year olds, "freedom fighters."

One man's NRA fringe is another man's freedom fighter. They said nasty things about those terrorists who took up arms against the crown back in '76.

Police departments upgraded their weaponry because they were outgunned by the bad guys. Are you saying it's different bad guys we face than the ones they do?

Maybe you should just send your guns to the freedom fighters directly, in the interest of smaller government.

I heard this on WBEN 930am this afternoon (saturday): "When our government sends weapons to freedom fighters they send the very same guns they are trying to take away from us". Interesting isn't it?

Those hung up on "assault weapons" should have listened to Sen. Feinstein on C-Span. First and most importantly, the term assault rifles is so loosely defined and vague that, like most Democratic laws, it will be another gift that keeps on giving to the trial lawyers. Secondly, Feinstein made no bones about it that her legislation will be just the first step into drying up all guns in America. Later, when it was pointed out that in 1995 she maintained and carried a concealed weapon for her safety, she said her position has evolved since she no longer feels in danger. HELLO,what about all the millions who are in danger on a daily basis? Hypocrite is the kindest thing I can say about her. History shows her previous ban was worse than useless, it was actually counterproductive.

50s4ever, just because you lose an argument (or several) is no reason to go into personal attack mode. Please use your Big Boy Manners here.
