Those were the days KC! We wore so many clothes we almost couldn't bend and walked like stiff little snowmen all the way to school. I didn't know we were suffering because we had so much fun! The bad part was putting all those clothes back on again to walk home for lunch (No free lunches then), then back to school for the afternoon. we weren't given too much time to do it, and no one ever dared to be late! :)

You were right KC... this cold is nothing unusual even for recent times, though we've had some recent mild winters. It seems lately schools close based on weather predictions, when the predictions are given as alarm predictions.

What do you bet that school gets called off tomorrow because of it being too cold for the kiddie? I recall going to school when the thermometer itself actually read minus 10; we didn't know anything about "wind chill" back then, only that it was COLD and so we dressed appropriately. You know, with hats, heavy coats buckle boots, mittens and of course those wool scarves that felt against your neck like they were made of sandpaper?
