Oh and one more thing it is somewhat scary the way the Post Journal has attacked Obama from the beginning. I wonder if it's a Jamestown thing seeing as how I had my first racist experience when I was growing up in this whack city. Not to mention I have lived in Clearwater Florida, Phoenix AZ, Austin Tx. and El Paso Tx. and Lawton OK. Never experienced as much racism in any of those states as I have in this city. Hey I thought NY was the union. Hey maybe we can stop complaining about Obama and fix some roads around here. Get new business taxes incorporated seeing as how NY has the highest darn taxes around. Businesses barely survive here unless they are big corporate business, Sears etc.

Are you serious. Why the heck is Obama raising the debt ceiling any worse than Bush sending troops to Iraq over WMD. Oh and three wars isn't expensive at all. lol

And a do-nothing worthwhile president that was reelected. Seems you forgot that part. Just trying to be helpful and you are welcome for the correction to your post.

Interesting topic-"Srategy." In the nfl 7 head coaches have been fired for "failure", along with numerous assistant coaches for failure. On the other hand the rnc[t-party] has chosen to reward failure. The party chair, responsible for one of the most devasting rejections in Nov. will be rewarded with 4 more years. You recall that Ed.Steele-the first black rnc chair- was booted after his 2010 successes. And john boehner along with his 18% approval, was handed the gavel for 4 more years of obstruction.

gioallie - and your point is? Have you forgotten about the real LANDSLIDE in 2010?

I don't object to topic change--democrats picked up [from memory] 2 senate seats, and 13 or 14 house seats--that relates to a gain in my thinking.

"Familiar Strategy" resulted in an election landslide victory and mandate, and 53% approval--why change something that works?

At 18% approval, speaker Boehner might give thought to changing his "strategy."

No bubby I would never hit it on carlaw. While I may not agree with everything she says, unlike you she doesn't call everyone who disagrees with her or abama a racist, terrorist or any of your other pet names you like to use. She treats others decently unlike you.

senate democrats have enough numbers to pass the debt ceiling hike even if every GOPer votes no, as was the case in 2006 except all the democrats voted no & republicans had the majority to pass the hike anyways.

people only get mad when republicans do it. nobody wants to talk about how every democrat (including BHO) voted no to raising the debt ceiling back in '06.

i don't remember such a fervent rhetoric back in '06. ahhh the liberal hypocrisy..

Um... PJ, do you even know what the debt ceiling is??? It authorizes payment for bills the government has already acquired...Congress has already "ordered the parts" This just "writes the checks" to pay the bill. It has absolutly NOTHING to do with what we are going to spend next year. Quit perpetuating the lie!

These jerks in govt need to stop wasting so much money with all there corruption and perks and I guarantee our country would lose this debt in a huge hurry! The waste in government is a huge disappointment to the citizens of the United States who have no say in the matter.

And Carlaw, did you forget about Operation Fast and Furious, the BP oil spill where Obama did nothing for months on end (except turn down help from other countries) until even Democrats in the Gulf States were screaming at him. Then you've got the oil moratorium and holding up the XL pipeline which together cost 100,000 GOOD jobs for unemployed Americans. Household income is down almost 5%, Obama's given hundreds of billions of dollars to foreign countries and the U-6 (the real rate) unemployment is 15%, more Americans living in poverty than when he took office, turned Iraq into a loss has has had 3 times the no. U.S. killed in Afghanistan than died under Bush.

Carlaw, usually I think you have fairly well-reasoned opinions but I must say you giving Obama an A+ is disappointing. When you say he's getting things done, it's usually in the way a banana republic dictator would go about it. As for Congress, the Republican House has passed budgets along with 50+ more bills that Harry Reid hasn't even allowed to come to a vote. Only the gullible would think he isn't taking marching orders from Obama. Obama tells Reid to do nothing so he can blame Congress and then writes Executive orders for things he knows could never pass through Congress, bills he knows his own Democrats wouldn't vote to pass. And then we come to the duckster. The duckster says the downgrade was because of the Republicans. As Clinton would say if it were the Republicans, "It's the SPENDING stupid". The other ratings firms have already said that continuing with Obama's deficits will cause a downgrade even if the debt ceiling is raised.

Carlaw, you have to make things really simple for Seadog. Carlaw gave Obama an A+ for getting his agenda moved forward. She even stated she didn't agree with any of it but he is accomplishing things.
