undreds of Wendy’s workers are seeing their hours cut back because of President Barack Obama’s health care law.

WOWT-TV reports that nearly 300 employees at 11 Wendy’s locations in the Omaha area will have their hours reduced to 28 hours a week because the franchise owner says he can’t afford to pay his employees health care.

That's right Khulum. That will make welfare more attractive than work! Can you blame anyone? Senator Young and Assemblyman Goodell got it right when they said we need to focus on Welfare and Medicaid reform and get more in line with other states. People can't afford the property taxes to stay here and new people and business can't afford to locate here because of this. I hope they keep pressing for reform and mandate relief.

I agree with reform on welfare and mandates. This has to be a top priority for this state. But Khulum, you are way off base. Most of the new healthcare laws have not even taken place yet. These businesses that say thaey are laying off people or cutting hours are feeding you bs and you are buying it. Now if you tell me the price of a buegr wil increase 25 cents at wendy's to pay for the extra cost of health care I would say that sounds reasonable. But don't buy all this crap that healthcare will cause layoffs. Carlaw, you know better than that.

welfare reform is needed BIG time.People should not be allowed to be on it their whole life. some states you get 6 months to find a job if not you are shut off unless you have at least a part time job, i say we should do that, there are alot of part time jobs around here and not full time

Texas cut taxes and regulations and has an 8 billion dollar surplus. NY adds regulations and has high taxes and is 62 billion in debt. The gov. is yelling about the wrong things.
