Lawrence Preston has been in the restaurant business for more than 30 years — and now he’s brought his knowledge and experience to Jamestown to reopen a downtown pizza shop. Bella Pizzeria, located where Dave’s Pizza was once located at 212 N. Main St., officially opened Thursday and is the first business in the Jamestown area for the longtime restaurateur. ‘‘I’m proud to be here,’’ he said. ‘‘All I ask is to at least try us once. You won’t regret it.’’ Preston said the restaurant serves Italian dishes like pizza, naturally, and south of the border favorites like burritos. Also, Preston said he wants to serve foods that not all restaurants serve, like Cuban sandwiches. ‘‘I want to cover foods other community restaurants have forgotten about,’’ he said. The pizzeria is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Customers can eat in, take out or receive delivery for the Jamestown and Lakewood area by calling 488-0035.
