| | 25 Days of Gadgets - Day 25December 24, 2008 - Dave HeceiThe holiday is here and we have reach our last gadget. This last item should be and is the 'Ultimate' computer. What I am talking about is the Apple 24-inch iMac. The iMac has been around since the return of Steve Jobs, the late '90s. The latest incarnation is by far the most beautiful version and the most powerful. It really is the perfect home computer. The iMac is Apple's all-in-one design. Apple takes their excellent LCD display panel and adds an Intel Core 2 Duo based computer inside. The latest iMacs are now made from aluminum and glass. This glass front goes right out to the edges, which gives it a very clean look. Add to this a classy looking black border. The LCD screen is glossy making for richer colors and better contrast, meaning blacker blacks. The display is very crisp and is available in either a 20 or 24-inch model. The 24-inch iMac gives you an amazing full HD resolution screen. This makes the 24-inch iMac ideal for computing, gaming, or watching movies. What more could you want. The latest 24-inch iMac can now use up to 4 gigabytes of RAM, previously you could only have 2GB. Along with a Firewire 400 port there is a Firewire 800 port, something that was only available on the very expensive Mac Pro. The 24-inch iMac looks great, runs fast, has one of the most advanced computer operating systems available, and can even run Windows XP or Vista for the ultimate in versatility.
