And It's Free
May 21, 2014 - Dave Hecei
Apple updated its cloud-based iWorks suite of Apps. This suite includes Pages (word processing/page layout), Numbers (spreadsheet), and Keynote (presentation). These Apps are available to anyone with an iCloud account. The online suite also has Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Notes, Reminders, and 'Find My iPhone'. The online iCloud Apps are synced with your Mac(s) or iOS device(s).
There are some notable new features. Up to 100 users can collaborate on a document. You can create 2D charts in any of the three Apps. Images up to 10MB in size can be used with the document size limit being 1GB. Numbers can output to CSV format. Another new feature that I was looking for is the ability to export to ePub.
There are lots of small improvements and new features in iWork making this cloud-based suite even more impressive. If you have an iCloud account and haven't tried out iWork, now is the time. These Apps can be accessed anywhere you have a modern computer and browser and high-speed Internet access.
