Retail Outlets Run Out of MacBook Pro 15

April 10, 2012 - Dave Hecei
Reports are being posted on the Internet of Mac retailers currently not accepting MacBook Pro 15-inch orders. History shows that when this happens a new model is about to hit the market.

Rumors have been flying of a new 15-inch MBP ultra-book model coming soon. This rumored model is to be more like a MacBook Air than the traditional MacBook Pro. If true, this new model will likely be much thinner and lighter. It could have a standard spinning hard drive, or the much faster SSD type storage. To make it thinner and lighter, this new model will not have an optical drive.

With supplies of the MBP 15 becoming strained, the new model is probably only a few weeks away. The next generation of Intel's processors, named Ivy Bridge, are not due to hit the market for at least another month. If Apple ships a new MBP-15 in the next couple of weeks it will mean they received new chips ahead of other manufacturers.

I will be watching for an announcement from Apple. New products are usually announced on Tuesdays.
