The Elite Status Of The Supreme Court
To The Reader’s Forum:
I am writing to express my opinion about the way the United States Supreme Court exists.
The fact that its members are chosen rather than elected, to me, gives them an exclusive elite status, something which deems them superior to those in the executive and legislative branches of government. If potential justices were candidates available to the general population, there would most likely be a better chance of getting the best person for the court.
I think that the present system says, in effect, that most people are too stupid and ignorant to make vital decisions.
