Reader Thankful For Help After Flooding
To The Reader’s Forum:
This morning I was informed that the basement at the UCAN City Mission was flooding.
We soon discovered that the flooding was the result of a water main break near Fourth Street. With the assistance of many people the basement was pumped out and clean up begun.
I would like to express my gratitude to Vince DeJoy, the Jamestown Fire Department, BPU employees, staff at the mission, board members from UCAN and the several guests who were more than willing to step up and do the “dirty work” that was needed.
While all this was happening a group of young people from Bemus Point United Methodist Church were there decorating for Christmas.
It is such a blessing to see so many people working together with such positive attitudes. In a day when we seem to hear about all the negatives lets remember to look for the positive actions of so many in our community.
