Verizon Phone Tower Should Be Denied
To The Reader’s Forum:
Today, the Zoning Board of Appeals will consider Verizon Wireless’s request to erect a cell phone tower on Hallock Street. This request is in direct violation of our zoning laws. It is my understanding that other legally zoned sites have been proposed to Verizon as well as the opportunity to co-locate on existing towers. It appears Verizon chooses to reject any reasonable alternative.
In my opinion, it would benefit Verizon’s public relations image and business reputation not to try to bully their way into a residential neighborhood in violation of our zoning laws.
I again urge the Zoning Board of Appeals to do the right thing and deny Verizon’s proposed cell phone tower, thereby protecting the integrity of our neighborhoods.
