The Entire Lake Could Be Improved

To the Reader’s Forum:

As residents of Bemus Point, we can see the lake quality is now the best it’s been in fifteen years. The water is clearer, fishing from the dock is now possible and grandkids want to come to the lake and swim!

Seaweed is no longer a problem and the mold floating on rotting weeds near shore is nonexistent.

Our sincere thanks to the group of community minded people who stepped up, donated their time and money to “fix” the Bay Area.

Even the lake bed and ecosystem of water movement cleansing itself appears healthier. The lake is doing its best to survive but help was needed and this so called test area proves what can be done when open and educated minds with new technology are applied correctly.

We applaud the community members who stepped up to tackle our dying lake.

If only those who wrap themselves in the financial blanket of a status quo would step aside, the rest of Chautauqua Lake could greatly benefit from the same help Bemus Bay received.
