Union Relief Christmas Project Thanks You

To The Reader’s Forum:

The Union Relief Christmas Project has been completed for this year. We are so grateful for the support of our community!

This year, we were able to provide food, clothing, gifts and toys to 41 seniors, 59 families and 140 children this year. Thank you to everyone who had a part in our two major fundraisers, the golf tournament in May and the 95th annual Charity Ball. Thank you to everyone who supported these events, either with a donation or attending and participating in these events. Thank you to all of our community citizens and beyond who contributed monetary donations, handmade mittens, gloves, socks, food and much more.

We want to extend a special thank you to Chautauqua County Inner Lakes FCU’s for their generous donation of toys for children, Westfield Academy Central School for their annual food drive, gently used coats and monetary donations, Westfield Memorial Hospital for their annual donation of cereal for all families, Welch’s for jelly, Cott Beverage for juice, Westfield Moose Lodge 118 and WOTM Chapter 517 for turkeys, food and monetary donations, Westfield Sons of the American Legion for your generous donation, the Celeron American Legion for all of the brand new winter coats, hats and gloves, WWO for a monetary donation and food for seven families at Thanksgiving, Westfield Mayville Rotary for miscellaneous items, Chautauqua County Rural Ministeries for infant diapers, Julie Devlin’s Girl Scout Troop for adopting several angels, Brownie Troop 20067 for shoe box gifts, Annette Lukasik DDS, Fredonia and Dr. Daniel Welsh, Jamestown for dental health kits for children, Dollar General of Westfield for $100 gift card and help with collecting socks for children, Better Baked Foods for providing fresh baked bread for seniors and families in need, Lakeview Correctional Facility for toothbrushes and toothpaste, Lake Shore Free Methodist Church of North East, Pa., for food, gifts and monetary donations, First Presbyterian Church, St. Dominic’s RC Church, First United Methodist Church, WACS Teachers, Key Bank and Community Bank in Westfield for Angel gifts, FairPoint Communications for your generous monetary donation, Senior Citizen’s Group for hats, mittens and socks for newborns to five years of age, Pat Testrake for your generous donation of infants clothing and accessories, and B&C Tax & Bookkeeping for providing space for the many donated items.
