Driving Home A Needed Message

Too bad an important presentation this week was just heard by high school students. It was something all drivers, including many adults, needed to hear.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, “Hang Up and Drive” was presented to all county school districts highlighting the dangers of cell phone use while behind the wheel in Jamestown at the Reg Lenna Center. Despite us all knowing not to text or connect to social media, there is a tendency for many to take to their phones during driving.

It could be a deadly deal. “Life is normal one second and the next it’s not,” Steve Johnson said on how fast life can change after a car collision. Johnson’s wife, Jacy Good, was involved in a distracted driving crash that took the lives of her parents and left her paralyzed in the left arm and leg.

Their story is one worth sharing — and maybe it can save a life.
