Nancy A. Aldrich 1939 – 2019

Nancy A. Aldrich, 79, of Jamestown, entered into rest Jan, 7, 2019

Nancy was born April 19, 1939, in Knapp Creek, N.Y., to the late Willard and Dorothy Ruper Manning.

Nancy graduated from Cattaraugus HIgh School in 1956. On April 13, 1957 she married Richard G Aldrich Sr. She spent her early adult years raising their family, volunteering and working in South Dayton. Nancy owned a restaurant called the Coffee Cup, where she shared her cooking talents and caring nature with many. Later in her life, she worked as a home health care aid. Again, doing her very best to care for others. Nancy volunteered with Girl Scouts, the South Dayton Fire Department, where she was instrumental in the arrival of the first rescue vehicle and the beginnings of the rescue squad. After moving to Jamestown she loved helping at the Jamestown Audubon Society. Nancy loved reading and learning, gardening and nature, she loved walking and Tai Chi. But most importantly, she loved spending time with friends and family.

Nancy is predeceased by her husband, Dick Aldrich who passed in 1997; and her sister, Marilyn Kaszowski

She is survived by her loving children: Julie (Tom) Maynard, Rick (Denise) Aldrich and Jody (Jeff) Benjamin; grandchildren: Shaye (Dave), Jessica (Bill), Kristin (Bill), Geraldine (Jason), Justin (Holly), Tyler, Jennifer, Matthew (Christina), Natalie (Dave), Samantha (Chris) and Ashley; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; siblings: W. Robert (Shirley) Manning, Millie Gernold, Richard (Sue) Manning, Harold (Kathy) Manning and Dottie (John) Hayes; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and Friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home, 478 Route 83 Balcom Corners, South Dayton on Sunday from 7-9 p.m, where a service will be held Monday at 11 a.m.

Interment will be in Villenova Cemetery
