92, of 148 Pennsylvania
Ave., Jamestown, N.Y.,
passed away at 2:30 a.m.,
Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, in

Rehabilitation Center.
A lifelong area resident,
she was born June 25,
1926, in Jamestown, N.Y.,

where she played the flute
in the orchestra, sang in the

celled in mathematics.
Before her retirement,
she was a longtime employ-

Manufacturing Company.
She was an active
member of the Mozart Club
and the Creche Inc., where
she had designed a pattern
to make infant gowns. She
was easily recognized by
driving her big old blue

were many and varied. Her
extensive collection of
books was a source for her
ongoing research of history,
world cultures, art and trav-

reader of current affairs.
One of her favorite past
times was spending time
outside taking care of her
yard, her flower gardens
and landscaping.
Kathryn was an
enthusiastic traveler, adding
to her knowledge and en-
joyment of the world. In
addition to many U.S. des-
tinations, she had visited
Europe, India, Nepal and
Japan. This began her long
interest in Asian art and ob-
jects which decorated her
home and her garden.
Music and art were always
a significant part of her life.
The Cleveland Museum of
Art was one of her favorite
destinations. She preferred
listening to symphonies and
opera’s and filled her house
with music from her vast
collection of records and
CD’s.
Surviving are her sister,
Louise (David) Rhodes of
Jamestown; her nephews:
Thomas A. (Deborah) Nel-
