Terrence N. “Terry” Heary

RANDOLPH — Terrence N. “Terry” Heary, 65, of the Terrace Apartments, Jamestown Street, Randolph, passed away, Monday, Sept. 10, 2018 at home, while under the care of Hospice and his companion, Gayle Anderson.

He was born June 4, 1953, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Harriet Prozeller and Earl Sturtevant Sr., and became the foster son (later adopted) of Sylvester and Dorothy (Falt) Heary. He was a graduate of West Valley High School and attended college for computer science.

Terry was a dairy farmer for many years, taking over the generational Heary Dairy Farm in West Valley, N.Y. He had also worked construction and was long time plasterer. He enjoyed his family, friends and Terrace Apartment residents.

He attended Faith Bible Chapel in Randolph, the ECHO senior nutrition of Randolph and Terry was very proud to have been sober for 32 years and an active part of AA at the Randolph United Presbyterian Church. His interests were bicycling, gardening, listening to and playing music and photography. He will be forever remembered as the ultimate prankster.

Terry is survived by two sons: Terrence J. Heary of Jamestown and Andrew A. Heary (Michele Boland) of Gowanda; a daughter, Mary L. Heary of Albion, N.Y.; many grandchildren including Johnny Shaw, Georgia Shaw, Lyle Howard, Kaylynne Heary, Adrianna Heary, Lyndsey Heary and Sara Heary.

He is additionally survived by his companion and caregiver, Gayle Schreckengost Anderson; siblings: Stephen Runng of San Francisco, Carlos Runng of Berkley, Calif., John Runng of Buffalo, and Margaret Garas of Florida.; half-siblings, Earl Sturtevant of Albion, N.Y. and Lasca Donchez of Clermont, Fla.

A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday (Sept. 15, 2018) in the Faith Bible Chapel, 117 Jamestown St., Randolph. The Rev. Dave Golden, pastor of Faith Bible Chapel, will officiate. The family will receive family and friends at 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service at noon.
