Gail L. Olmstead

Gail L. Olmstead, 82, of Sinclairville, passed away Thursday, Sept, 6, 2018, at home.

She was born June 6, 1936, in Dunkirk, a daughter of the late Laverne and Dorothy Smith Reynolds. She was a 1954 graduate of Dunkirk High School.

Gail assisted her husband with the daily operation of the family dairy farm and was a devoted fulltime wife, mother and grandmother. In earlier years, she also worked at Cockaigne Ski Resort, Red Barn and the South Dayton Canary.

She enjoyed reading, being involved with sled dogs and loved spending time with her grand and greatgrandchildren.

Wife of 64 years to Jay Olmstead, whom she married Oct. 6, 1954; mother of Joyce Crandall of Jamestown, Bonnie (late Paul) Sischo of Cherry Creek, Jay (Shirla) Olmstead Jr., Terry (late Louie) Nickerson, all of Sinclairville, and the late Donna Brezner; grandmother of Michael and Jamie Crandall, Joshua and Cassey Brezner, Jason and Cody Sischo, Edward and Wynter Nickerson; great- grandmother of six with one great-great-grandson; mother-in-law of Mike Brezner; sister of the late Patsy (late Don) Whitaker and Donald (late Alberta) Reynolds. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
