Zachary William Nosel

Zachary William Nosel, 32, of Jamestown, N.Y., died in his home unexpectedly on March 6, 2018.

He was born in Demorest, Ga., on May 26, 1985, to Deborah Crowley Nosel and the late Douglas Charles Nosel.

Zach attended St Joe’s School in Warren, Pa. through sixth grade. He was a 2004 graduate of Frewsburg Central school, where the sports program was a big part of his life. Zach was a graduate of Jamestown Business College.

Working with his father in the antique and auction business from the day he could walk, the relationship between Zach and his dad was one that everyone enjoyed watching on the auction block. Fishing and hunting with Nate, his “Da” and Grandpa Nick were special times growing up.

Because Zach was shown such an outpouring of love and support from our community, he had found hope through living. Most recently, he was employed by the UCAN Mission in Jamestown, and was often overheard encouraging others. He spent many volunteer hours as well throughout the summer with A Fresh Start, the Alex House and those at the Mental Health Association. Zach would want the world to know that there is always hope and that it is worth the fight. His courage, his contagious smile, his red hair and his big bear hugs are what we will all remember him for.

Zach is preceded in death by his father, Doug Nosel, 2010; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his good friend, Mike Reale, 2017.

Zach is survived by his mother, Deborah Crowley of Cumberland, Md; his brother, Nathan Nosel of Syracuse, N.Y.; stepmother, Cecelia Nosel of Frewsburg, N.Y.; aunt, Trish (Ralph) Valone of Jamestown, N.Y.; stepsister, Anna (Jesse) Evan of Jamestown; stepbrothers: Joshua (Sarah) Wilcox, Brattleboro, Vt., Travis (Alexis) Wilcox of Charlotte, N.C.; and Grandpa Jim Buck of Frewsburg. Many extended family members including his loyal friends: Alan (Shelley) Brady and Tyler Lillie.

A memorial service will be held at Kiantone Congregational Church in Kiantone, N.Y., on Sunday, March 18, at 3 p.m. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Pastor Mel McGinnis will officiate. Hubert Funeral services are in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe be made to the UCAN Mission Jamestown, N.Y., or Kiantone Congregational Church, or A FRESH Start, P.O. Box 243, Jamestown N.Y., or the Mental Health Association in Chautauqua County, 31 Water St., Jamestown, N.Y.
